BACK IN JAPAN!

Still can't believe it myself. After a few years of trying very hard to get back to the country that I loved to work and live in, I'm suddenly back! Even though it is only for a short time.

It all started with a phone call. I was doing a two hour layover at Narita Airport waiting for my next flight to the Subic Bay Airport in P.I. and I kept looking over at one of those green public telephones in the lobby. I still had phone numbers of people I knew here in Japan and a few that I lost contact with after the 2011 earthquake. I really wasn't too sure what to expect, so in a "shot in the dark" I called one of those numbers of people I lost touch of.

After a few long ring tones I got a friend who was (of course) very surprised to hear my voice. Turned out he lost my international phone numbers, addresses and my E-mail addresses because his laptop was wrecked at his home when the quake hit.

After a few minutes of taking he asked if I was going to be back in the area soon and I did say; "Yes after this next job, but just for the plane ride back home."

A couple of weeks later in the P.I. a get a call from my boss telling me that since I was in the area could I go to Yokohama, Japan for a few weeks to work with our old company partner with a project that we are both working in the U.S. and Japan at the time and the person who asked for me was the same person I happen to call that day at the airport. 

Don't you just love when things just work out like this. Doesn't happen to often in life.
